A crazy day—that’s how my day went. Some days are just like that, because you always hope everything will go well, and my day started off great 👌, I switched gyms because I can’t lift heavy weights for a while, and the other gym is all about weights, so I wanted to work out—my body demands it—and I started at a new one doing dance therapy, and I loved it because there are different people every day and each class has its own style; I like the variety.
So this month I decided to sign up and paid for my membership. Yesterday I went and did dance class; today I went and did an amazing dance class—the instructor was excellent—and then I took a TRX class that I loved; it was one of the best functional training classes I’ve ever done to start adding a little more strength to my routine. I felt great—I did planks like I’d never done them before—and I told myself that doing this every week will be great for me.
In the afternoon, I went to work as usual and then went out for a walk to deliver an order. As I was walking down the street, there was a bump in the road, and when I stepped on it, my foot twisted—it made a horrible sound, and the pain was pretty intense, too. I stayed there for a while, practically kneeling on the ground, because the pain was unbearable. This isn’t the first time this has happened to me, and the other times it’s been a sprain, so I thought it was the same thing, but I don’t want to be on bed rest—I have so many things to do that we’re often racing against the clock, and now I have to hit pause.
I went home and started icing it—so much so that my foot was already almost purple—but when I saw how swollen it was, I went to the doctor. I had some X-rays taken, and the doctor examined me. He pressed really hard where it hurt, but the good news is that I can walk, and after examining me, he realized I didn’t need a cast. Phew, I breathed a sigh of relief. but he did order me to rest. He said it’s just strained ligaments, but if I don’t rest, it could get worse, so for 15 days I have to stay in bed with my foot elevated. He prescribed some pills and told me to use ice, so even though it was a crazy day and I’m exhausted, I’m grateful that I didn’t break any bones—and it’s not a sprain either, thank God.
