Hello, friends! I hope you are well and happy!
Have you even celebrated your birthday in a very simple way? Well I have but it still felt very special because the people I love was around me.
Anyway, this post is not about me; it is about my mother' s birthday celebration yesterday and it was very simple. It qas because we are on a tight financial budget and anither thing si that my mother and my mother in law celebrated their birthday on the same day
My son had a fever that night and we both had a very little sleep. I felt light headed and wanted to sleep but I had to prioritize my son to be comfortable. At 4 am, he was already awake and he had to use the bathroom, he was just 5 years old and I had to help him clean himself. We went back to bed and later we heaed my mother getting busy in the kitchen and we went there to greet her a happy birthday.
My mum was very happy that we brought her bread to pair her coffee with and stayed for a while to chat with her. Soon, my husband arrived and we had coffee, and then I proceed to making breakfast.
I already bought pancit bihon the night before but my mum still went to the store to buy pancit miki and some other ingredients. Since there is already pancit bihon and pancit miki available, I tried cooking panci bam-i and I was amazed that I was able to cook it right. At 8 am, we had breakfast and my mum went to a meeting she had to attend.
My mum had to attend another meeting in the afternoon so she asked my sister to cook pancit miki and brought some for the meeting's snacking.
Fast forward to the evening, I checked on the kitchen and found some pancit left. There were only us at home and it felt like the usual nights we had so I asked my husband that I would buy roasted chicken and he agreed. Since our mothers shares the same birthday, I bought two roasted chickens and asked a motorcycle taxi to bring the food to my mother in law's house for them to share as well.
When my mother found out that I bought roasted chicken, her spirit was lifted and called on to my sister and my kids for dinner. We all gathered at my mom's house and had some chitchats about random things in our lives. My sister volunteered to buy coke which we all enjoyed as well.
I almost forgot to take pictures to remember my mother's birthday this year. Too bad I have many responsibilities that lined up and I had to tighten my budget to make ends meet.
Here are our photos; sorry they are used to pose and I also like candid shots
Though my mother's birthday celebration was very simple this year, I still made her smile by giving her a small gift. I hope by next year, I will be able to make her birthday special.
I am very grateful to God that He gave my mother a long life, and I pray that in her last years, she will be able to experience a worry-free life and I pray I can give her that. I also pray that he will bless us and will make me a way of blessing to my mother as well.
To close this post, I want to thank you all for your never-ending support.
Keep safe everyone!
