Oh, that’s nice of her. I just assumed that she wanted the original pattern made to make sure it worked before any changes were made. I have worked with incomplete patterns before and it is quite frustrating to get half way through a knitted sweater to find a mistake that inhibits me from finishing it.

Nothing against crochet but it seems more forgiving than knitting in my opinion. I sometimes will use it to finish a hat or sweater if I want to make the opening a little smaller.
