I’m writing to express my full support for this initiative, both as @ylich and as the operator of the @la-colmena witness.

The main issue Hive faces isn't just about aesthetics; it’s a matter of identity and searchability. The name 'Hive' is unfortunately too generic in the tech world, which creates significant friction for SEO and global positioning. To truly scale and stand out among other Web3 protocols, we need a unique brand that isn't constantly competing with unrelated software or hardware companies.

Even though rebranding would mean my witness name, @la-colmena (The Beehive), would no longer be a direct translation of the blockchain's name, I believe this is a necessary sacrifice for the greater good of the ecosystem. We need a brand that is as unique and powerful as the technology behind it.

I and @la-colmena will be supporting this proposal in the DAO. Let’s move forward!
