Jamming Zone Week #40 | Body and Soul - Johnny Green (Cover) by @yisusth

A cordial greeting to the entire community of Music Zone. I hope they are well and enjoying the Christmas season. We are in week #40 of Jamming Zone and I have the pleasure of sharing my interpretation with the trumpet of a jazz standard entitled "Body and Soul", composed of Johnny Green and with lyrics by Edward Heyman, Robert Sour and Frank Eyton. Among the most popular versions that I love are those of Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra and the trumpeter Bobby Hackett, the queen of jazz she Fitzgerald and it is difficult to forget the incredible version of Tony Bennett and Amy Winehouse. The tempo is slow and its melancholic melody. The most common tone is that of D -Mayor. In my case, I start interpreting it in D major, with significant tone changes. I add slow and chromatism improvisation in the middle of the song. The letter transmits nostalgia and yearning for a past love, adding an intense desire to meet with that person.

Un cordial saludo a toda la comunidad de Music Zone. Espero que se encuentren bien y estén disfrutando de la temporada navideña. Estamos en la semana #40 del Jamming Zone y tengo el placer de compartir mi interpretación con la trompeta de un estándar del jazz titulado «Body and Soul», compuesto por Johnny Green y con letra de Edward Heyman, Robert Sour y Frank Eyton. Entre las versiones más populares que me encantan están las de Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra y el trompetista Bobby Hackett, la reina del jazz Ella Fitzgerald y es dificil olvidar la increíble versión de Tony Bennett y Amy Winehouse. El tempo es lento y su melodía es melancólica. La tonalidad más común es la de D bemol mayor. En mi caso, comienzo interpretándola en D Mayor, con cambios de tonalidad significativos. Yo agrego una improvisación lenta y con cromatismos en la mitad de la canción. La letra transmite nostalgia y anhelo por un amor pasado, agregando un deseo intenso por reunirse con esa persona.

Music is the refuge against storm and loneliness. Without a doubt, it is the best companion and makes this time special. I consider that life can be like a song with flats and sustained, in addition to different nuances and transitions. Improvise is an expression of freedom and expressing everything one feels, freeing you with charges, emotions and thoughts. I am in the final stage of the semester, there is only one week left and I can rest a little. Maybe I escape the beach, take a notebook and write some thoughts. That is another way to improvise and leave unleashed to imagination and creativity. I hope with all my heart that they enjoy my performance and have a successful weekend.

La música es el refugio contra la tempestad y contra la soledad. Sin duda, es la mejor compañera y hace que esta época sea especial. Yo considero que la vida puede ser como una canción con bemoles y sostenidos, además de diferentes matices y transiciones. Improvisar es una expresión de libertad y de expresar todo lo que uno siente, liberándote de cargas, emociones y pensamientos. Me encuentro en la etapa final del semestre, ya solo falta una semana y podré descansar un poco. Tal vez me escape a la playa, me lleve un cuaderno y escriba algunos pensamientos. Esa es otra manera de improvisar y de dejar rienda suelta a la imaginación y a la creatividad. Espero con todo mi corazón que disfruten de mi performance y que tengan un fin de semana exitoso.
