I agree 100% . It is bad form for people to make financial decisions based on a badge.

It is best for users to re-invest their tokens as they see fit.

NOTE: The first power up day happened on SteemIt when the platform had suffered multiple months of decline. The event is a reminder that users need to power up to make the platform work. At the time, STEEM was the only coin on the platform.

Today HIVE is giving 20% on HBD . I suspect that many of the coins on HIVE Engine have hit their bottom. So powering up is no longer the only option that benefits the platform.

It is better for users to readjust their portfolio throughout the month than to power up on a given day.
