Gold is an elemental substance. Gold will still be gold a hundred years from now.

Bitcoin is purely ethereal. It's value is based entirely on trends and technology.

It seems more likely that gold will retain value over a long period than a technology.

Will future generations value bitcoin as much as the generation that lived when it was discovered?

To argue on the side of bitcoin. Buying gold is problematic. Is that bar that you think is gold really gold through and through, or is it chunk of gold plated lead. Bitcoins is slightly more secure in that the token was verified by multiple computers.
