My definition of a pinch is a $60,000 medical bill. The death of the coin collector (which often means complete liquidation of the coins).

Unfortunately, I often see new investors sold on the numismatic value of the coins in the shop or on TV. They then find themselves selling the coins at spot and hating everyone involved in numismatics.

I think it is best for new collectors to concentrate on the metal. Anyone who engages in buying numismatic value should be actively engaged in trading and not just holding that value.
