Each culture that encounters the flower will give it a name.
Flowers often have different species. It is not uncommon for plants to develop different species in different climate zones. So, aach species will need a different name in each language.
Explorers travel the world to collect plants. Sadly, they often make mistakes with the names.
The scientific community has done a fairly good job cataloging cataloging flowers.
When I take pictures of flowers, I like to state the location of the plant and report both the local name and what I believe to be the scientific name.
I looked up Jatropha integerrima. Wikipedia says that the Jatropha integerrima is a spurge native to Cuba. Wikipedia lists many species in the Jatropha genus
