I hope we can avoid a conflict between Russia and Ukraine. These regional conflicts have a habit of growing into brutal proxy wars.

BTW: I understand that Stalin was quite brutal during his reign over Ukraine. Estimates run from 3 to 7 million deaths. Events of that magnitude weigh heavy on the conscience.
