You get rewards 7 days after your post; So, there should be some rewards in your wallet for the post you wrote eight days ago. This is your wallet

If there is a button called "redeem rewards"; press it. That will give you some HP and some HBD.
What I usually do is to go to the internal market. I trade my HBD for HIVE and power up. I would suggest transferring your first rewards to @dustsweeper. Dusty will upvote posts with HIVE DUST.
The site HiveBlocks.com reports your resource credits
https://hiveblocks.com/@devpress
You have a 10 HP delegation. This gives you enough resource credits for 11 posts. It takes 5 days for the credits to regenerate. A comment costs the same as a post. An edit costs the same as a post.
The upvote is your best networking tool. Each upvote consumes 2% of your voting power. It regenerates at 20% a day.
People don't pay close attention to followers like they do on Twitter and Facebook. Only follow accounts that you find interesting. There are several spam accounts that follow new users. Don't autofollow.
BTW, since your upvote is worth only $0.0001, you probably shouldn't upvote comments. Just upvote the base post. The upvote that you dropped on my comment will be wiped away as dust.
The best way to find posts is to look at the created page:
You can look for a tag like
I admit, I ended up buying HP so that my upvote would be worth more than the dust threshold.
