The volcano gives and the volcano takes, I'm really sad though for the first families evacuated because they barely had time to flee and some animals were left behind as well as their whole lives. Now the lava is wiping Todoque, but they will allow access a little time to take some of their belongings and farmers to go and water the lands remaining, as all the rest of the roads are cut by lava flow. It's really heartbreaking, evacuated people cannot go with their pets to the military shelter so some roam in the streets or sleep in their cars with their pets. There was a man with 3 dogs in a car for 3 nights, now he's been taken into a house by a lady but dunno it's all heartbreaking. When I lived there I lived right in front of an old inactive volcano opening (La Caldereta) and I used to dream of lava flowing down the street, so it's something in the mind of islanders believe me, still I think you never think it's going to happen really to you, it's really sad and shocking they're slowly becoming aware of it. That land is going to be barren and engulfed by very hard material for many years, restoring roads will take a lot of of effort two.
