did you read the manga, it was much more complete, there is another anime called kamisama kiss that the lead is so like inuyasha but it's way moooore clearly romantic ;-)
Also about Candy Candy I remember here in Spain when I grew up it was like our first soap opera hahah but in cartoon... I was always team Albert though I know that final thing still stirs controversy
