El aire cubano, habanero se nota en su conjunto.
"Can Punxes" es una casa de estilo modernista que se mandó a construir en 1911 el "indiano" Ramón Mestre y Mestre a su regreso definitivo de su viaje a Cuba, a donde había ido a "hacer fortuna". Y con ella vino para así formar parte de la burguesía catalana que se construía casas señoriales siguiendo el movimiento arquitectónico de moda en la época, el Modernismo.
Aún, después de más de un siglo de su construcción, se pueden apreciar bien sus detalles: la ornamentación floral, el delicado diseño del zócalo de la entrada, las barandas de hierro forjado, así como el portón lateral del mismo material.

The Cuban, Havana air is noticeable throughout.
"Can Punxes" is a modernist style house that was ordered to be built in 1911 by the "indiano" Ramón Mestre y Mestre on his definitive return from his trip to Cuba, where he had gone to "make his fortune". And with it he came to form part of the Catalan bourgeoisie that built stately homes following the architectural movement in vogue at the time, Modernism.
Still, more than a century after its construction, its details can still be appreciated: the floral ornamentation, the delicate design of the entrance plinth, the wrought iron railings, as well as the side gate of the same material.
