Making a house for my cat - PART ONE [ENG-ESP]

Hoy vengo a mostrarles un proyecto que me emociona de sobremanera, desde hace aproximadamente un mes y medio a estado viviendo casi a tiempo completo este gato amarillo y he tenido que tomar responsabilidad de su compañía y presencia, hasta el momento lo alimento, lo baño aunque no demasiado y le compre medicamento para desparasitarlo, es un gato muy juguetón y alegre, tenia la caja la nevera que compre y hace algunos días había pensado en construir una linda casita para mi fiel compañerito, pero aun no tenia muy claras las ideas.

Today I come to show you a project that excites me greatly, for about a month and a half this yellow cat has been living almost full time with me and I have had to take responsibility for his company and presence, so far I feed him, I bathe him but not too much and I bought him medicine to deworm him, he is a very playful and cheerful cat, I had the fridge box I bought and a few days ago I had thought of building a nice little house for my faithful companion, but I still did not have very clear ideas.

Hace unos días mi hermano @victorjoseph ha estado también en casa conmigo y le comente el proyecto y lo uní a mi cruzada, empezamos ha hacer una lluvia de ideas a fin de crear los bocetos para la casa del gato y como abordar la caja para aprovechar al máximo el material, no compartiré esto como un tutorial porque hay mucha improvisación y no tengo registro de cada cosa que hice, solo relatare el proceso.

A few days ago my brother @victorjoseph has also been at home with me and I told him about the project and joined him to my crusade, we started brainstorming in order to create the sketches for the cat house and how to approach the box to make the most of the material, I will not share this as a tutorial because there is a lot of improvisation and I have no record of everything I did, I will only relate the process.

Primero corte la caja de la nevera mas o menos a la mitad, al principio quería una casa con tres pisos, pero el cartón no iba a ser suficiente para hacer una casa resistente al peso del gatito, así que luego de meditarlo por un rato decidimos dejarla de una sola planta con una terraza en la parte superior con doble tapa de cartón para soportar el peso del gato.

First I cut the refrigerator box more or less in half, at first I wanted a house with three floors, but the cardboard was not going to be enough to make a house resistant to the weight of the kitten, so after thinking about it for a while we decided to leave it as a single floor with a terrace on top with a double cardboard lid to support the weight of the cat.

La primera planta mide 46 cm de alta, con la misma base cuadrada de la caja de la nevera, recorte una de las esquinas de la caja y la parte recortada la coloque dentro de la caja invertida, para hacer la entrada a la casa,hace tiempo había construido este pequeño marco son sus dos puertitas y me pareció perfecto usarlo en este proyecto.

The second floor is 46 cm high, with the same square base of the refrigerator box, I cut one of the corners of the box and the cut part I placed inside the inverted box, to make the entrance to the house, some time ago I had built this small frame with its two little doors and I thought it was perfect to use it in this project.

Del lado izquierdo de la casa he abierto par de ventanas, mi hermano aconsejo hacerlas grandes para poder manipular la cosas en el interior cuando se la hora de hacer algún arreglo o para sacar al gato en caso de ser necesario.

On the left side of the house I have opened a couple of windows, my brother advised to make them big to be able to manipulate things inside when it is time to do some repairs or to take the cat out if necessary.

Luego recortamos un poco de la parte superior para dejarla de una sola planta y hacer una bonita terraza en la parte superior, dejando suficiente cartón en las esquinas para hacer esta especie de vigas o soportes el cual sostendría el techo final a dos aguas.

Then we cut a little off the top to make it one story and make a nice terrace at the top, leaving enough cardboard in the corners to make this kind of beams or supports which would hold the final gable roof.

Mi hermano en la parte posterior le hizo un pequeño tragaluz decorativo usando flejes de plástico que también era parte del embalaje de la nevera, todo el material usado para la casa de mi pequeño gatito ha sido reciclaje y esta es apenas la primera parte de este proyecto que me emociona un montón, la segunda parte sera decorativa, selección de color y colocar los elementos faltantes para que sea una casa ideal, espero que este post les haya gustado y si gustan me gustaría oír sus recomendaciones de color, y si tienes gatitos.. ¿Dime que elementos harían falta para hacerla ideal para gatitos? de momento solo entra curiosear o dormir un poco y quisiera hacer confortable para el... a todos muchas gracias por leer y los espero en la segunda parte de este post.
