Hello to all fungi lovers gathered in this community! Today I want to show off the first porcini mushrooms (Boletus Edulis) that I picked up already this mushroom season π. But let's start from the beginning. Last week, my friend invited me on a mushroom-picking trip to our place in the Starosambir district. However, I refused due to lack of time, because this year there are already three children in our family (the youngest is a little over six months old), so my wife really needs my help, plus work plus I have to take care of my garden at least a little, so it is difficult for me to go for mushrooms so far (I'm not saying I won't go for mushrooms long distances, I'll just do it less often this year). So my friend went without me and picked a lot of mushrooms, so I decided to take my bike and go check out places near my house. And when I arrived and went a little deeper into the forest, tying the bicycle to a tree, I saw a tiny mushroom immediately under the wheels. It was boletus scaber.
Then I found another boletus scaber, old and wormy, then another - a beautiful young one. Then the old russula was gnawed and I began to think that there were no porcini mushrooms here this year.
But then I found a completely rotten porcini mushroom and realized that they were already growing here and maybe I came too late π. But still, I decided to search a little more and found a cap of mushroom bitten off from the leg by slugs!
I realized that Boletus Edulis is in the forest and I just need to look for it better. And it was very dark there, so maybe at first my eyes simply did not adjust to such dim lighting. And when the adaptation passed, I started to find the first porcini mushrooms π. However, most of them were very badly damaged by slugs ((
And at the very exit from the forest, I found two large and old porcini mushrooms (but still quite suitable for consumption, for example, they can be dried to make mushroom soup later).
