Hello Hive friends, I hope you are well and starting this new week with positive thoughts. Today I bring you a blog that is very moving for me and that despite having already accepted the situation, remembering the path and the difficulties that I have had to go through brings back very hard memories. Therefore, I want to introduce you to my son Mauricio, a super beautiful, loving, sincere and full of energy boy who will steal your heart.
When my child turned 4 years old, he suffered a series of behavioral changes that set off my alarms. Mauricio found it difficult to sleep, he was always running from one place to another, his tantrums were not normal, when he had a tantrum he started the third world war 😔, it was very difficult to calm him down, there was no way, or I did not know the strategies to calm so much anger, his emotions could go from being calm like a stream that flows harmoniously between its causes to a volcano erupting, destroying everything in its path. It was very hard for me to see my 4-year-old child in that situation, I felt that he was doing something wrong, that he couldn't handle the situation and although it sounds ugly, I wanted to give up being his mother.
The signs were obvious, my heart told me that something was happening to my son, one day in one of his tantrums he screamed that he wanted to die, and I asked myself: How could such a small child be saying that? The situation was desperate. So I decided to take him for a psychological evaluation and there I received the diagnosis of HIGH FUNCTIONING AUTISTIC SPECTRUM DISORDER AND INATENTENT HYPERACTIVITY, a ruling that knocked on the door of my home and changed our lives forever
Between neurologists, medications and therapies, the years passed and Mauricio is currently 9 years old and his tantrums are still present, but with a little more control of his being, the diagnosis is still there, because he came to stay, that is why I have dressed in patience, respect and above all love, since adolescence will soon visit him and everything will change again
It has not been easy being her mother, having quick answers to her concerns and control over her frustrations and anxiety attacks. But little by little we move forward. I hope you liked this mini blog, it will be until a next meeting. bye! 😘
