El Paso a Paso / The Step by Step
Paso 1: Cortamos el cordón cola de ratón, una tira que mida 2 metros y otra que mida1/2 metro. Con el yesquero o encendedor quemamos las puntas un poco, para garantizar que no se va a abrir posteriormente.
**Step 1: We cut the mouse tail cord,** a strip that measures 2 meters and another that measures 1/2 meter. With the tinderbox or lighter we burn the ends a little, to guarantee that it will not open later
Paso 2: Preparamos el cordón corto, es decir el que mide 1/2 metro de largo, y hacemos un nudo normal en una de sus puntas. Luego, medimos 5 cms y hacemos otro nudo.
Step 2: We prepare the short cord, that is, the one that measures 1/2 meter long, and we make a normal knot in one of its ends. Then, we measure 5 cm and make another knot.
Paso 3: Armamos nuestro telar. Es muy extraño que dispongamos de un telar en casa (ya quisiera yo), pero podemos utilizar otros recursos, como por ejemplo una tapa de una caja de zapatos o en mi caso, que voy a usar una tabla de chequeo y un clip de presión. También puedes usar una simple tabla o cartón con 2 clips de presión.
Arriba colocamos el cordón más corto que preparamos en el paso anterior, y lo pisamos con el gancho de la tabla de chequeo, en el segundo nudo que hicimos. Y en la parte de abajo, pisamos el otro extremo con el clip de presión.

Paso 5: Comenzamos a tejer. Te voy a describir en que consiste este nudo, la explicación paso a paso. Cuando la vayas haciendo te vas a dar cuenta que se trata del nudo o vuelta inicial que hacemos cuando vamos a atar los zapatos. Este es un caso de esos en que la práctica es más fácil que la teoría.
Tomamos el lado izquierdo y formamos como una letra "P" Invertida, donde ahora la punta va a estar hacia la derecha.
Tomamos el lado derecho y lo pasamos arriba del cordón que quedó hacia ese lado. Luego, lo pasamos por debajo del cordón central, y lo subimos atravesando la barriga de la "P" invertida. Subimos para llevar hacia arriba el nudo.
Esto lo que vamos a hacer hasta terminar el cordón. Solo asegúrate de repetir de la misma forma siempre, es decir que siempre empieces por el lado izquierdo, siempre haces exactamente lo mismo.

Paso 6: Una vez que hallamos terminado de tejer con el cordón más largo, cortamos los excedentes de cordón y quemamos sus puntas con el yesquero o encendedor. Y vamos a echar hacia arriba el tejido que acabamos de hacer. El objetivo es que quede bien apretado el diseño.

Paso 8: Hacemos el cierre ajustable, Para ello cruzamos las tiras en dirección contraria y con el pedacito del excedente que cortamos en el paso anterior, hacemos un nudo envolviendo las tiras, volteamos y volvemos a hacer un nudo; cortamos los excedentes,cortamos y quemamos las puntas.
