Hello friends of the Freecompliments community! One day late due to a small cold that I am suffering from but that is improving. Today I wanted to talk to you about a peculiar character whose story I personally love. This is Wendell Scott.

Wendell Scott was born on August 29, 1921 in Virginia. From a very young age, Wendell knew that he did not want to work in the cotton fields or in the factories that surrounded his neighborhood, so he studied mechanics. His father was his mentor, he also worked as a mechanic.
Wendell left school and became a taxi driver before working as a mechanic in the Second World War.

Upon his return and after getting married, he set up a vehicle repair shop but it didn't make much money and he had to look for another job. But either because there weren't many opportunities or because Wendell liked risk, he decided to work at night as an alcohol smuggler. His driving expertise was such that the police were only able to catch him once during his entire criminal career.

When the Dixie race track wanted to add a black driver to their grid they went to ask the police, a strange place to ask, and the police undoubtedly pointed out Wendell as the best. And so he began the automobile career of number 34.

Next day the second part! Don't miss it.
