Hello friends of the Freecompliments community! Today I wanted to talk to you about Vince Papale who has a story that was even taken to the movies in 2006 "invincible".

Vince Papale was born on February 9, 1946 in Pennsylvania into a typical working-class family of the time. He always stood out for his athletic abilities but never had a real opportunity to stand out.

His life, like that of many of his generation and social class, was hard and full of difficulties. Vince worked as a substitute teacher, combining it with his passion for American Football playing in the minor leagues. But he couldn't stand out and his life took a somewhat erratic path. His wife left him and he was also fired from work.
That led Vince to work as a bartender in a well-known bar where Philadelphia Eagles fans, like himself, attended. It was 1976. Vince was 30 years old and his luck was going to change. Dick Vermeil, the team's new coach, arrived with new ideas. And one of them was that he wanted more fighters and fewer stars on the team.
That's why he organized tests open to anyone to find new talents and that was the opportunity that Vince didn't miss.

He took the tests and stood out above the other candidates. That earned him being chosen to play on the professional team. What had been his lifelong dream, playing for his hometown team. He was the oldest rookie to debut in the NFL.
This makes it clear to us that it is never too late to pursue your dreams.
