Asking parents to love every child equally is the most impractical thing. They will always love one more than the other, or have preferences that is exhibited by one. It doesn't mean they love them less.

But in the case of ignorance and people not knowing how to help, it would be wise to just find a similar course that’s lucrative, using it as a leverage to the career one is passionate about.
