Their genes says they are outdoor trained from the beginning. Human conditioning has made it otherwise.

My cat is currently being a mother. She respects the indoor rules great. Only rule I have is no bathroom use. I make sure to keep an open window just enough for her to slide out. Dog outside my patio doesn't kill her. just licks her alot till she gets irritated and "disciplines" the pup.
