What is world bank?
An international institute of finance that provides financial aids/loans for capital projects to the countries of the world !!
It is substituted in two parts mainly.
They are :
- International Bank for Development & Reconstruction (IBRD).
- International Development Association (IDA).
The World Bank is purely a component of the World Bank Group!
- Today the world bank’s IBRD consists of around 183 countries over the world as it’s members.
History:
- The world bank was created in 1944 at Bretton Woods Conference with the INTERNATIONAL MONETARY FUND (IMF).
- President of the world bank is an American (traditionally).
