Hello everyone! I prepared this post halfway way earlier but I had a bad toothache for a few weeks and I finally got some meds to get better. I'm a lot better today and thought of completing the post. So I got my Covid-19 vaccine and thought of sharing my experience today. Our government in Malaysia offered free vaccination to everyone who register so I registered for myself as well. I was actually very worried because I felt like it took a long time to get an appointment although I registered early while everyone in my family got theirs.
My First Vaccination Dose
One day I got a notification and text message from the Health Ministry regarding my upcoming registration and I felt so happy that I was finally going to receive my first dose. I got vaccinated in Mitec. Previously, my mom got hers in the same location. My appointment was in the morning luckily.
They did thorough checking like taking note of our profile on the MySejahtera app besides checking the vaccination details before letting each person in. There were also multiple people inside who will gladly guide us to our rooms if we have doubts. This is the hall I was supposed to go to and I was given a consent form to fill.
This is my mom who accompanied me. All people who came along with vaccine recipients had to be at the back. I wish I didn't tag her along as they were not allowed to sit. So during my second appointment, I went alone and it didn't matter that I never got a picture as I my mom snapped some on the first appointment.
It was almost my turn. This is just to get a short counselling before the vaccination.
It was my turn after this lady. I spoke to the doctor and he gave a short counselling session on the vaccination and asked me if I have any allergies. He also inquired about my health status. He then signed my form.
I was then sent to another room where I was awaiting for my vaccination.

So, it was my turn and this is the curtain of the vaccination room. I just scanned the vaccine bottle QR code with the app. At the time I went, I was not allowed to take pictures and the doctor explained that it was due to a new SOP. However later on the rules changed and people were allowed to take pictures and videos.
I got room 39. The doctor explained about the injection earlier right before the vaccination and apologized in case it hurt :D I said it is alright =) I also got my vaccine card. This is another section of the hall after exiting the room. I was asked to wait for 15 minutes before going back. I met my mom back here and we just sat.
Here's another angle of the hall. Then after 15 minutes we left. There were authorities before the exit and they check the timing of the vaccination to make sure it really has been 15 minutes so no one can cheat. It is for safety purposes to make sure there are no allergic reactions and in case there are, quick action can be taken. On my way out, 100 Plus canned drinks were offered to all recipients. I got two of them.
It was time for photoshoot! My mom was my photographer and she helped me to get some pictures for memories.

My Second Vaccination Dose
My second dose was in 3 weeks. It was scheduled at the same time in the venue. I went alone this time. Unlike my first time, my second appointment was a breeze. Within ten minutes of arrival, I was already in the vaccination room. Everything took about 30 minutes including the 15 minutes observation time. Unfortunately I didn't take much pictures as everything was fast and I didn't need to wait long for my turn.
I am glad and thankful that I got free vaccine and at least I can feel safer and the vaccine increases my survival chances against Covid-19. I encourage everyone to also get it soon if it is possible so you can protect yourself but of course, do check with your doctor if it is safe for you in case you have allergies or health issues.
