Hello everyone! Here's another Inktober drawing that I did. It is a lighthouse that provides guiding light to sailors and boatmen. I could have posted this earlier but today has been pure hell as I'm not well. I rarely use that adjective but today I've earned it. Anyway back to Inktober as I'm done ranting.
The prompt for Inktober Day 22 is 'Beacon'
I chose to draw a lighthouse as it goes along with the theme of this day which is Beacon. It works as a constant guide to people traveling on the seas especially during night. I think it is rather scary to be on the sea at night being surrounded by water only with no light. The lighthouse guides ships with their colour codings, beams and even flashes that indicate a certain signal or warning.
I started the drawing with the lighthouse building. I was just going for a basic looking sketch without too many complicated details.
I also added a little house and that long thing attached to it is supposed to be an oar we use to ride boats. But mine turned out to be a weird looking one.
I also drew a little barrier between the landed area and the sea. Then I drew a seagull as they fly in the area. I had to add the sun as well as I think that completes the drawing. The dark ring is a little float that's been hung, just in case someone needs it quickly. I know the seagull looks cartoony but this is supposed to be a sketch so I didn't want to make it realistic. I just drew for fun to enjoy the process and keep the habit going.
I have added a few more details. I drew a large mountain in the background. Then I included a little boat with a flag too. The sky looked so empty so I drew some fluffy clouds and birds flying around. I have seen them do that in real too as they try to catch the fish. We can see them swarming when the water tides are lower.
Finally I drew a ton of stones around the barrier. Again, I have seen this too in real. It was quite annoying to draw so many of them and I certainly did not enjoy this part. As final touches, I added little waves of water to the sea. The word 'Beacon' reminds me so much of a place I stay in when I visit Penang as it's called Beacon too. I am missing it right now. I hope to go there again soon.
Thank you for dropping by! I hope that you have a wonderful day ahead.
