Hello everyone! Today I'm going to share some pictures I took during a shopping trip done specifically to buy some home decoration.

My family and I needed some artificial garlands that can be hung around the home. We will be doing a prayers at home, possibly next year January and we wanted to be prepared in advance. Since it is the Deepavali festival season, we thought we could make use of the discounts in the Indian shops.

The garlands came in different designs. Some were colourful while some were more plain. They also had different amounts of flowers with some looking grand while others more simple with smaller strands. I do love colours in general but my preferences vary depending on the subject. I like using all 100 colours in my palette if I'm making a large painting. However when it comes to home decorations, I prefer it to be simpler and minimal. I'm not a fan of decorations that seem 'noisy'. So while these garlands look so pretty, I didn't choose any of them due to the maximalist appearance.

This shop had other kinds of decorative items too like these bells. They were shiny and cute. I thought of getting one just to own them. But then I'll probably have to keep them in my room and never actually display them elsewhere as my family too prefer minimal decoration.

These were the thin looking garlands and will be great for the prayer room. We finally found one of the garlands we wanted and it is hung in the picture above. Can you guess which one is it? It does have a pop of colour but it also has equal amounts of white to balance it.

These were all the thicker garlands which are suitable to be hung during festival seasons or special prayers at home. They can be hung in the living room or the front yard area. The one we picked isn't here as there was only one and the seller said that they were the washable type as the flowers were made of fabric.

So these are the garlands we chose to purchase. The thin one for prayer room is half orangy and half white while the other festival season garland is mostly white with a pop of colour. This costed more than RM 100. I just realized such garland decorations aren't cheap. Hopefully they would last long. By the way, this is the counter area and the seller placed them here temporarily as he was showing us a set of lights that turn on when we pour water in them. However they were so expensive and we didn't get them. I think one of the reasons is because they are trending right now.

This is the inside region of the shop. They had all kinds of things from incense to grocery items like rice, cooking ingredients and spices. They were also selling some traditional outfits as it is the festive season.

Here's a bonus picture taken in another shop where father really wanted to shop in. He got two kurta tops. The staff who attended us was very patient as my father took some time to choose. He changed his mind multiple times and my mother and I didn't even see his last outfit properly as he quickly changed it to a different design at the last minute. It was amusing to watch.

So that was my shopping adventure. I wanted to post it because I like the colourful pictures. Thank you for dropping by and I wish that you have a wonderful day ahead.
