well now , i'm sure a lot of them weren't as witnesses have more 'at stake' than anyone else and even if it's not about the money it actually is , it's just not just about the money lol. It's not about harsh, and its not the bug, i think its GREAT they had a failsafe in place that prevented the actual disaster and i think its great they took their time in checking it, i wouldnt have cared if it took another 24 hours but i feel they should at least have given a small tweet every hour or four hours, if only to give 'proof of life' and if only it says nothing more than 'extra complications but we're on it'. My issue with apocalypse one was more the propaganda assault around it and the actual pro-pagation as downvoting. Ive been opposed to that from forever as i dont see it as a solution to counter inflation and if you dont like 'bad' content you can block people already and you'll never have to see them again.

and it makes some good points, i went over to yabapmats tracker and much to my surprise , what do i see ? where there were about five bots giving actual ROI instead of promising it, the ROI-promise has increased, and not by small bits , and the guy from the article has a serious point on the tokens too, its simply steem with another name, there's no added value plus you get dispersion ... even if it's incentive for people to have the illusion the market their own 'brand' with it under the hood that won't change much there ...
You'll hever me rant about the technical side of steem and certainly not about the brains who work in development at 'the company' but their idea on what constitutes 'masses' and how some people talk about it is sometimes nothing short of delusional ... to get people to pay-to-post as if this were facebook ? or twitter ? and THEN tell them 'but if you dont do what WE consider good content you might lose the money you put into it' ?
i just removed all witness votes because it was supposed to be different after HF21 and it is : my post rewards are halved , there's MORE downvotes, there's downvotes being SOLD, there's people using bots to downvote and yet
i still have to see the exact measurements of 'good' content, can there be anything more subjective than good or bad ...
I see affiliate marketing FEATURED by steemit.inc .. the biggest sponsor of steemcleaners (who seems to be one of the biggest earners and all they do is wreck posts with borrowed money, ... i'm supposed to bring my money, which i did, i think about 90% of all steem i own i bought so far and at this rate its gonna take a while to get that money back, i'm supposed to bring a friend who brings some money , but they get the delegation for free, they dont have to bring their own money to enforce their one-sided views on content AND they get to MAKE money ... how many versions of the word wrong can you fit in one sentence there?)
I say if they want a million steempower to play steempolice they just have to buy it, and steemit can save the power to promote creation, not censor to fight inflation because in the end that's what it is ... and in the end inflation being what it is, if the inflation itself doesnt stop then the countermeasures will have to grow WITH it , you'll have to wreck more content daily as there's simply less value to divide over an evergrowing pool. That's the heart of the problem
BUT, 
and that said, even if i could go on for an hour or two, im 16 days behind on replies, i ususally dont start at the top, the browser crashed i saw the reply and ofc the yapcat couldnt resist.
I think (personally) what you do is provide more democracy to a system that's seriously lacking in that part so you have my support , definitely but i dont do black & white, not all witnesses are 'good' people and not everything emperor Steemit Inc says is the word of God (and if i didnt like it here i would have been long gone, this account might be young but me , ive been living in Steemtown for over two years and a LOT longer on planet Crypton)

mh ... as always : edit : if i HAD the solution i would have given it by now, my spotlight-allergy and impulsive hellfire sometimes makes me unfit for politics in any case in any place. The only thing i can think is to halt inflation completely at a certain point but how to translate that into keeping the primal DAPP on steem-chain running the way it does i have no idea but as i said somewhere else before today. Looking at how fast the bots they tried to remove adapted and looking at how they seemingly promise more instead of less than before (i still have to check that for myself before i believe it and a guttertrash bum like me who spent some copper at the end of the month is not in a position to simply do that, let alone the fact that any post using bots might be downvoted out of nowhere, making the money put it into it evaporate and the numbers useless) so maybe just put a cap on it hard core and let the bots figure out how to keep making money lol, they seem to be great at it ... at this rate anyway wether steem is worth 16 cents or 5 makes difference to no one but whales anymore ... so i really
