as its been seven days , no eight, its a bit futile wether i do or don't and i have this spotlight allergy where i desperately try to avoid too much attention but for some reason i seem to trigger easily on certain topics, subjects and zones. I have had none of my posts flagged for a long time now and i don't want to bring up the mis-treatment i received from steemcleaners when i just got on here (and you wont find that on this account anyway).
I also don't think it's my responsibility to play defender of the people as the people havent done much to defend me either (over the years). To mention the person in question would show alliance which i don't have. I've seen it happen once since the hardfork but i'm not the greatest socializer. The topic in question was "to please be careful with the downvotes before it gets out of hand" and two hours later the post was flagged by abusereports, whatever the reason was i dont know but even if someone paid to have it upvoted i dont think it warrants censorship as i dont know any bot at the moment that would give roi on an upvote everyone who does is essentially burning steem by getting less than they put in, if anything it could be applauded to fight the inflation (a myth because hyper-inflation won't be fixed like that). I haven't seen the guy post anymore though and he was pretty active before, so all i can conclude is someone who put money into it doesnt do that anymore now.

I think downvoting by itself is detrimentel to two things essential to growth and future of STEEM (not the company ) but the most used app is Steemit, it will reduce bulk posts per day and it will deter high-value brands from posting as competitors can simply wreck the money they put in an ad/promotion post in one click. I dont think we'll see the full extent of the free downvotes to evaluate until several months deep into HF21+patch22, my guess is most people who didnt out of principle still wont and those who did because for some reason they think they got the right to (i have no idea who give who the right to decide what is good and what is bad and what is #newworldorder and what is not) will just downvote more now as they dont waste resources while doing so.
Its pretty logical that the biggest moneymakers would not vote for a decrease in their own turnover but the overall propaganda right before and short after the HF seemed very orchestrated to me.
I havent downvoted once on any account except one time on myself by accident and i won't start now. I dont decide who gets to say what and i feel de-centralized is not 20 people and a company deciding but it IS their company and this IS their app (dapp, whatever) , however everyone keeps saying the chain , STEEMchain is public property , so in that case decision should be made a bit wider, the current system is akin to western particracy, you vote a representative you feel will defend your views and nees and they divide the cake and write the law.
On top of that the feeling of power derived from hunting en masse is encouraged, not in the least by the company itself actively supporting downvote cartels like steemcleaners (thats FAR from neutral) ... instead of trying to fix the inflation itself, it creates enmity and it prevents people from saying what they want in any way they want it ... and i can go on for a bit ... but i won't ... cos its exactly what i dont want : attention and discussion on a topic that ends up with both parties leaving with their opinions intact or reinforced. I DO think steemit should withdraw all delegation from any downvote cartel and instead use it to promote initiatives, the DAO might be one thing, the millions in SP delegated are a waste, they're not constructive, its not helping people get started, even small fry could benefit from a few hundred delegation (which if you divide a million is quite some heads) ...
and the cartels should bring their own money if they want to play judge, just as is expected from the guttertrash in down below, if we want it we bring our own money, so why do they get it for free...
that said ... im not gonna tell you what to do or dont thats pretty much against my principles, i do defend myself when attacked, which is a natural reaction and sometimes roadblocks simply need to be either removed or bypassed.

Heh, well ... could go on for a page or two as i picked the name well i think but , my fav examples of hi-value brands would be coca cola / pepsi cola , see not that they themselves would go as far but indirectly that's not a theory, it could simply be done, not just by the opposing brand but also by people who think coca is evil. Or say Wizards of the Coast comes up to steemit like HEY, you got a crowd who likes turnbased cardgames (no need to mention UltiMatt the Unbeatable here) and brings a sh*tload of money and starts promoting like hell ... the possible consequences , not that im saying matt or aggroed or whoever is on top of that thing these days themselves would but fans are fans and groupies are groupies. Things like that could escalate fast and the only way to counter (at first sight is to downvote the opponent, i dont think humans are above that and i certainly dont think big corporations/businesses are, harassment suits for one thing are commonplace in high places so flagwars would be here, thats a bit of the reasoning behind that ... enmity)

The whole thing about onboarding the masses sounds to me just like "bring a friend and some money to feed the whale" , where's the incentive for your every-day working class hero to spend beermoney on being able to post ten times while they can do 50 on facebook for free ? So (and i said this many times), an understandable mistake from the millionnaires point of view is to mistake the middle classes for the masses because i dont think what they're aiming at is what i understand by "the masses" so where's the incentive ? you got the flagship, which is this social network itself and the hybrids like steemmonsters and (so far to lesser extent) drugwars, maybe the upcoming megacity ... sets a bit of a trend showing that the ultimate salvation might be f2p/p2w - games, and there's ample examples of games that could be linked , from Stronghold Kingdoms to about anything turnbased maybe ? But still, say WOTC comes in hard with a million dollars to promote their new DAPP running off the steemchain (which would de directly in competition with the current number one (after steemit itself) at the current rate, last time i checked thats 20 times downpower for the company before it's spent and then you have the same hyper-inflation in place. It's not as simple as 'bring a friend' because a million friends of mine wont necessarily bring a million dollars each ( = lol) but 5 wizards of the coast might bring 5 million and THEY are incentive to said masses, they should start at the top to bring the bottom in
