A pleasing fungus beetle, genus Iphiclus. These beetles feed on fungi, and can be found in humid environments, particularly near rotting tree trunks.Name

Flat bugs (family Aradidae) live up to their common name; these specimens from the genus Dysodius are roughly 1.5 cm long, but only 2 mm thick. These bugs live underneath the bark of fallen trees, and their body sculpture allows them to blend in and go unnoticed by predators.Name

Four glasswing butterfly species feed on one plant species, Vernonia gracilis (Asteraceae). Adult glasswings are unpalatable to predators; they sequester pyrrolizidine alkaloids from the plants upon which they feed, giving them a bitter taste.

Name

A male Campsomeris wesmaeli, from the wasp family Scoliidae. This species is polymorphic: some specimens have yellow marks on the dorsal area of the thorax and abdomen, others only on the thorax, and this finally this completely black variation, which lacks yellow marks altogether.
