Me and my bestfriend decided to kill our time watching an old movie from our childhood, Moments of Love starred by my favorite couple growing up, Karylle and Dingdong Dantes and my spirit animal, Iza Calzado.
At first we enjoyed being the critics that we are, with its typical filipino cheezy lines. But as the story continues to unfold, our hearts started to ache for their poor fate.
Moments of Love is a movie that centers in the story of 2 persons living in different time who fell in love with each other. Divina, played by Iza, was living in the past in the year 1957, while Marco, played by Dingdong, was living in the present, year 2016. That's 49 long years, my friends!
But time differences didnt hinder their love to grow. I always wonder if it is really possible for two people to fall in love without seeing each other yet, that question in my childhood remains unanswered until now.
Their love story blossomed using an old telephone that serves the main connection from the past to the present time. They also used to sending each other letters and pictures through burying it beside an old tree, their rendezvous.
Iza is such a masterpiece! From an encantada (Amihan in Encantadia) to a classic filipina. So beautiful!
Although it is not stated in the movie as to how and why they were able to talk using an old telephone, but old Divina said it was how love works.
Perhaps, it really is.
My heart really sank when I knew what happened to Divina.
I realized one thing:
May mga laban talagang hindi kayang ipanalo ng pag-ibig lalo na't oras ang katunggali nito.
