I appreciate the discussion, and I understand your argument. ๐Ÿ˜Š.....we have been arguing for days now๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’”. btw...

Matthew 24:20 is about the future flight from Judea, so Iโ€™m not sure it proves that Christians were commanded to keep the Sabbath after Christ. Likewise, Luke 23:56 clearly says the women rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment, but that was immediately after Jesusโ€™ death and before the Resurrection.

Regarding Acts 20:7, the text actually says, โ€œOn the first day of the week we came together to break bread.โ€ So even if the meeting began Saturday evening by Jewish reckoning, Luke still identifies it as the first day of the week.

And yes, Catholics acknowledge that Saturday is the biblical Sabbath. The Catholic position is that Sunday is observed as the Lordโ€™s Day because of Christโ€™s Resurrectionโ€”not because Catholics deny what the Sabbath originally was.

So I think the real question is how the New Testament understands the Sabbath after Christ, rather than simply whether Saturday was the original Sabbath. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ
