Witnessing new life is a privilege. First sighting of a newborn, first feeding... It’s nothing short of miraculous. ✨
When it’s a lively l'il fellow, as in the case of this baby pigeon, that's gotta be a good sign. I recall other newbies being depleted after hard work of being born! In birds, this involves using something called an egg tooth, that nature bestows for the specific purpose of cracking their tough egg shell.
Will wonders never cease…
With pigeons, it's papa bird who chooses the nest (and mama who must approve it). A once abandoned flower pot, on our balcony, suddenly bursting with Life =)
Meantime, teenage pigeons perch nearby (perhaps, too close for comfort) excitable & curious. While dad anxious & tad irritable, jealously guards newbie from prying eyes (mine, included)
