Sub tropical Florida is wild like a jungle… When I first arrived, a decade and a half ago, I’d never imagined iguanas could be 6 feet long!
This baby dinosaur was climbing a tree by the pool in our apartment building.
Even wilder, this younger lizard jumped into the pool while I was in it, and joined me for a swim — for nearly half an hour!
The green guy was super cool and laid back, floating around and utterly unafraid. I was happy to have him there and grateful for his trust, especially, when he actually touched my foot before disappearing into one of the pool’s openings.
And, today, another fairly remarkable event. Large falcons, with a wing span wide enough to darken the sky as they passed by, sailing by my balcony, not too long ago. Just learned on the news it’s migration time for them, through December.
What a wonderful world!
