This scene has dealt with one of the main things in someone's carrier.

JOB INTERVIEWS !!

To be honest, the first time when I was little I did sympathized with Andy the future chief's assistant. But as I grow up, I found out that Andy's interview was awful and was lack lots of proper manners. That's why Miranda was behaving like you saw in the scene. In other words, Andy who was playing the role of a victim throughout the film didn't do well in this interview at all since she didn't prepare her speech in advance. According to her answers, she knew nothing about the company she was applying for, nor she was dressed well. Furthermore, Andy didn't seem to be excited at all. If anyone speaks like this in a job interview, then definetly he or she is not going to be recruited. Moreover, she straight out said that she hasn't ever read or even heard of the magazine which she came to interview for. Stupid thing to say to the editor in cheif, not to mention the fact that It's only possible in a movie to actually get a job with that interview.

On the other hand, you may wonder why Andy managed to become an assistant of Miranda even if her job's interview was a disaster. Andy played by Anne Hathaway turned around after Miranda interrupted her, squeaked on her shoes and said confidently that she was smart and also was a hard working lady. As a matter of fact, if Andy folded or started to shedd tears, then Miranda would have known she wasn't cut out of her position. But, Andy got a little angry and spoke up. And this is another point I want to clarify, Anne Hathaway's performance succeeded to send us the message behind this scene.

So in the future, I guarantee that you will meet interviewers like Miranda, so you must be ready and perform your speech thouroughly !
