For all you artists out there and all the talented people here on Steemit, I highly recommend to check out this experimental, yet extremly innovative project.
It also offers a chance for yet unknown artists to receive high exposure and high rewards.
The basic idea behind the Scarab Experiment is to creat a decentralized, independent, community run, cryptocurrency backed artist.
The idea may sound strange at first, but just remember when you first read about Bitcoin: It probably sounded very strange at first, too. Only by reading, experimenting and finally experiencing the benefits of Bitcoin, you slowly began to understand its incredible, innovative technology and the endless possiblilites behind it.
This may be true for Scarab, too. It took some time for me to wrap my head around the basic concept behind Scarab.
But after thinking about it for a while, I began to really like the idea:
It is not ONE artist, that shapes Scarabs personality, it is the combination of all people in the Scarab community that will determine what artworks Scarab will produce. She is not an individual, she is more than that!
It has to be seen, if such an advanced idea may work in our world, but I feel like it is definitly worth to give it a try.

Right now, artists can submit their works for audition. If you feel you have something worth sharing, I recommend you give it a try. Every artist receives 1000 Scarab tokens. One token is sold right now for 0.006 BTC, which means that every artwork that is accepted by the Scarab community will instantly reward the artist with tokens worth 6 BTC at the moment!
Also the verding machine is working, if you have a Counterparty wallet you can receive your first Scarab tokens for 0.006 BTC right now.
