As many of my regular followers already know, I enjoy discovering new paths and details about the places I visit, even if they’re places I frequent regularly or think I know well.
On one such occasion, since I had about half an hour before meeting someone—I’d arrived early at the meeting spot—I ended up walking around the immediate vicinity of that urban area.
And even though I was in the central part—or slightly on the outskirts—of the city of Amadora, I ended up on an avenue that runs in front of some military facilities known as the 2nd Lancers Regiment.
It used to be known as the former Commandos Regiment facilities. This military unit is well-known and highly regarded in the region, as it trained some of the best soldiers with specialized training for many decades over the years.
