Last week I decided to look for cultural events taking place at the weekend. Of all the events available, there was one that immediately piqued my curiosity.

It was an exhibition by a group of visual artists, with an emphasis on graffiti and street art.

Thunders Till The End was the name of the exhibition and it was on at Rua Dom Luís I in Lisbon.

The main aim of this exhibition was to show the different paths and skills that each of the artists had learnt.

It features Mosaik - one of the first artists to shake spray cans in Portugal, he is and continues to be one of the group's biggest influences; Bray ; Klit who always draws letters rather than flowers in a good mood, and who is always in a good mood; MAR who manages to humanize the walls by including human and animal elements in an original composition that leaves no one indifferent; Monster Designer by profession with an obsession for drawing clean letters and straight strokes with impressive phrases; and Mojojojo who, with the freshness of having been included in the group by last, has the ability to caracterize and the humility to make the Thunder universe even bigger!

Number 21 of Street Dom Luís I, Lisbon

The continuation of the Street... almost empty at this time of the day

Book of congrats at the entrance to the exhibition. I was embarrassed to open it and mark my passage... after all, I'm just a street art enthusiast, not an artist, right?

The ten year logo of the exhibition

One of the banners support

This might have a bigger participation of Monster, that is a Designer by profession

20240106_152219.jpg

Who's having a flashback of the A-Team wagon - GMC Vandura, driven by B.A. Barracus played by the famous Mister T?😅

20240106_152256.jpg

A detail of the van. This is a simple Ford Transit, a model popularized in Portugal in the late 1990s

Back side of the baby

When the object doesn't have the sparkle... you have to add a little star to make it shine! Ahahaha

20240106_152406.jpg

Although the photo is a little blurry, you can see how much work these artists have put into completing this unique characterization

20240106_152313.jpg

Another small design detail, using logos with bold lettering

20240106_153830.jpg

detail of the lightning bolt pendant fitted to the van's rear-view mirror

20240106_152329.jpg

It's all about the size, right? Can you see this huge walls graffiti photographs, amazing, right?

20240106_152825.jpg

What do you think of this old mirror frame? Has it been used to create an original piece or not?

20240106_152835.jpg

And this cupboard shutter. Originally recovered and now a fantastic triptych

20240106_152844.jpg

The detail of the skull with the foliage, guaranteed to be the work of Gonçalo Mar

20240106_152850.jpg

Detail of the pages of the last work

20240106_152911.jpg

Another very interesting set made from logos well known to any young Westerner

20240106_152928.jpg

Another wooden shutter, with a makeover and a new lease of life, and now in the form of art

20240106_152944.jpg

...and now for something completely different from what I've shown you so far... a tapestry. Because originality is something these artists never lack

20240106_152954.jpg

Another mirror that could have been from a hallway in a 1980s house, now transformed into a work of art

20240106_153004.jpg

The ever-present caricature in today's critical approach to society

20240106_153039.jpg

Is "This is a low budget artwork"?

20240106_153058.jpg

A splendid peacock... aiming where?

20240106_153105.jpg

Pinocchio... one of the most popular children's stories of all time. Always a recurring theme

20240106_153119.jpg

20240106_153220.jpg

Will I go further barefoot?

20240106_153229.jpg

20240106_153254.jpg

The notorious David Bowie

20240106_153324.jpg

Another door open for our imagination to fly... and fly...

20240106_153332.jpg

Blooming from any window shutter, flowers are part of the imagination of anyone who buys this piece to put in their home. They were priceless. None of the works, but I was curious to know what their true value would be for an admirer and interested buyer

20240106_153357.jpg

This time it's a mirror that's been transformed into a painting with a special depth... it reflects the shallowest part of us, have you noticed?

20240106_152547_editada.jpg

And now for the most fantastic piece in my opinion... Only those who were there could understand the detail and realism that this piece provoked in those who passed by in this dark booth and dared to take a selfie

20240106_152547_editada_2.jpg

I took a photo with a different exposure, to emphasize the lighter tones and for you to see how the piece was put together

20240106_152642.jpg

The inevitable selfie. I'm not a self-centered or narcissistic person, but I couldn't pass up this opportunity

20240106_152655.jpg

The last man... on the moon

20240106_152719.jpg

Till the end...

20240106_153408.jpg

Even a basketball court can be transformed, enlarged and used as a banner for a message

20240106_153454.jpg

What do you say you accept a challenge for a game of table tennis?

20240106_153523.jpg

20240106_153508.jpg

With these rackets, it would be a fun challenge!

20240106_153805.jpg

For lovers of two wheels, this scooter was in the final part of the exhibition

20240106_153815.jpg

Who lost the shoe? Is he going by motorcycle?

20240106_153839.jpg

The Thunders 3D Logo

I hope you enjoyed my weekend experience
