Splinterlands is frustratingly hard in this season (2022.10.18)

Not only the battles are hard, but collecting the focus chests too. It is nearly impossible to collect one daily focus chest. When I win, nowadays usually I earn 0-10 Focus Points (FP), and 390 is needed for a single focus chest. I currently have 141 FP. I played 246 battles in this season so far, and I won 100 battles, so my current win rate is only 40.65%. Probably this is not so bad. I heard from multiple people that they cannot win in this game, and that they gave up.

I am still playing. For fun. It is fun. Even if it is sometimes frustrating. I understand that many (literally hundreds of thousands of) people are playing it, and the competition is high.

I earned only 1 season chest so far. I am currently around the middle of the Bronze II League. I was in the Bronze I League for a short time in the morning, but I fall back, because I lost many battles, and multiple battles were draw. I am currently the 75 949th, so currently I am in the top 100 000 Bronze Splinterlands players.

I also keep investing in Splinterlands. In addition to leasing out most of my Splinterlands cards, I am slowly putting more and more money into the SWAP.HIVE:SPS liquidity pool. I currently have 0.909 SWAP.HIVE and 7.227 SPS in it. This currently worth $0.89 USD. Slowly it will reach $1 USD.

The 72.79% APR interest rate is very attractive, but I do not want to risk higher amount of money.

I rather prefer Hive Dollar (HBD) savings. This is a lower risk investment, because the Hive Dollar (HBD) is a stablecoin. I currently have $143.24 HBD in savings. Nowadays I am constantly building it. I regularly transfer HBD to savings. Probably I will receive more than $1.21 HBD interest at the end of the month. So I am starting to earn normal amount of money again, and not cents. If nothing unexpected will happen, then this will be very good in long term. I have 550 Hive (and I am still powering down) to have emergency funds, if needed.

The automatic card leasing with Splex.gg nowadays also gives a relatively good return. Around 200-300 Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) per day for me. This also gives a few dollars per month.

My total Splinterlands card collection is currently worth $162.37 USD. I use the earned DEC mostly to put it into Hive Dollar (HBD) savings, and sometimes I also put money into the SWAP.HIVE:SPS liquidity pool. Either way, I am mostly selling DEC. Maybe I will buy some Splinterlands cards too in the near future to increase the average income from the card leasing.

All in all, I am using Splinterlands. Both as a game, and as an investment too.
