Even though nowadays most of my current audience are not able to push the pending payout above the payout threshold in some cases, I am still trying to be active on Steem, but I read some people's comments about the recently emerged Steem situation on Discord.
One of them wrote that he does not have time for Steem anymore because of "too much time for too little rewards".
Sadly he is right about this. The low price of the Steem really affected people's voting value, the rewards and the activity on Steem.
The low price of the Steem affects everyone's voting power.
This hurts mostly the plankton/redfish and the minnow accounts.
I became a minnow (500+ Steem Power) recently, but nowadays my upvote is still worth less than $0.01 USD. This is why I nowadays rarely upvote comments. My upvote value is less than the payout threshold ($0.02).
Back in the day, 100 Power would give $0.01, but nowadays the situation is much worse.
Nowadays the upvote value of the Plankton/redfish users are basically worthless.
This may start a domino-like effect.
The lower the price of the Steem (and the upvote values) will be, the more people will leave Steem, and the more people will leave Steem, the lower the price of the Steem (and the upvote values) will be.
