What differentiates God's people from every other people on earth is the covenant relationship they have with God. When God called Abram, He made a covenant with him with a token of circumcision and it became a point of reference.
This was the covenant David banked upon during the historic face off with Goliath "...and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them..." (1Sam.17:36) he was conscious of his covenant relationship with God and God was glorified.
Every covenant involves a token and roles on the part of the parties involved. In the case of Abraham, the token was the physical circumcision and the role involved was obedience by faith, then God is faithful to keep His covenant.
In the same vein, the token of covenant of the believers is the circumcision of the heart, in the spirit (Rom. 2:29) that is, the salvation of our soul. The role involved is obedience by faith to the principles of the kingdom through sacrificial lifestyle.
At a time like this when arrows are flying by the day and noisome pestilence ravaging everywhere, the best approach is to hold on to the covenant of safety and protection with God. (Ps. 91) The question is, are you in a covenant relationship with God? If not, you can make it right with God right now. If yes, are you conscious of the covenant?
The covenant reads in part "There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways" (Ps. 91:10-11)
It is well with the righteous.
