John 10: 7-10
7 Then Jesus said to them again, Verily, verily, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I am the door; whoever enters through me will be saved; and will come in, and will go out, and find pastures.
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come to have life, and to have it in abundance.
11 I am the good shepherd; The good shepherd gives his life for the sheep.
12 But the wage earner, and who is not the shepherd, whose sheep are not his own, sees the wolf come and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches the sheep and disperses them.
13 So the employee runs away, because he is a wage earner, and he doesn't care about sheep.
14 I am the good shepherd; and I know my sheep, and mine know me,
15 Just as the Father knows me, and I know the Father; and I put my life for the sheep. (Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)
Jesus presented himself to his disciples and to the world as the door of the sheep, when it came to teaching his disciples He always did it through parables or everyday examples that they handled daily so that they could easily understand them. In this sense, it makes an analogy with the shepherd and the sheep, since an attending pastor looked after and watched over his sheep to keep them safe and sound in their fold.
These words of Jesus contrasts the protection that Jesus gives to the sheep in the fold with the usurpers and the false prophets of all time, for he does so in a way that can be understood that all who were before Him were thieves and robbers by That is not heard by the sheep, but he warns his disciples that he is the true door, the only way through which man will enter and be saved in addition to nourishing his life and spirit.
While it is true that the Bible tells us about the earthly shepherds that Jesus himself has put in our way in order to be equipped in the word of God it is also true that in the end all are men with weaknesses and sufferings to which he commands the Bible that we hold as obedience to God, but the true pastor is our Lord Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 13:17
17 Obey your shepherds, and be subject to them; because they watch over your souls, like those who have to give an account; so that they do it with joy, and not complaining, because this is not profitable for you (Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)
It is a mandate established by God to which we must submit with obedience. To really enter through the door into the fold through Jesus is a saving action and provides all those who enter through the door with an abundant life full of blessings that no one can earthly do so nor can he give them Only Jesus has the ability to provide and satisfy our soul
Brothers, for this reason, we cannot hesitate between two options. We must follow Jesus with the conviction that only He is our true shepherd and our only entrance and exit gate for every situation.
In Christ Jesus we have security and salvation and can live confidently that He is the door of the sheep.
