Reading to reflect: Colossians 3:23
And whatever you do, do it from the heart, as for the Lord and not for men.
Today I coincidentally came across this reflection and wanted to share it to begin this brief explanation about what the book of Colossians specifies in chapter 3 of verse 23. And she explains how important it is to have a good reputation, it is notorious that when the man acts with truth and transparency, he will always see the hand of God move in his favor in all areas of his life.
The reflection goes like this:
Rogelio was a good employee, nothing spectacular, but reliable, punctual, of a balanced temperament and always willing to do a little more.
Bernardo also did a good job, but he didn't mind going through a shortcut to finish a job, nor retiring a few minutes before to attend to his personal needs.
When Mr. Jones, his supervisor, announced that they were going to promote one, Rogelio had his track record and reputation to win the position.
Bernardo tenaciously did a hallway job by telling several of his co-workers that Rogelio had appropriated his ideas for cost reduction, had misappropriated funds and that his habit of overreaching in his lunch hour was known.
He was careful, however, to begin all his observations by saying: "This is between the two of us ..."
When Mr. Jones announced the following week that the promotion had been for Rogelio, he received strong applause from his co-workers.
None were surprised, except Bernardo. After all, Rogelio's reputation had preceded him.
The same happened with Bernardo's.
The man who does not fear the truth has nothing to fear from lies.
It is easy to start living a life "in the eyes of others." But what about the eyes of God? Many people believe that actions have no effect on their destiny and do things believing that they are hidden before the eyes of God assume that only what people who are in their surroundings see or believe can believe and do not take action when with a lie They want to win truths.
Paul exhorts us to be vigilant, so that we serve God and not men. It is true that first of all we have to please God before men, therefore, we have to take care of our actions because God sees everything, scrutinizes and gives each one according to his justice.
"And whatever you do, do it from the heart, as for the Lord and not for men." Colossians 3:23.
A very short and simple verse but with a fantastic healing and liberating message! When we work for God our life makes sense there is self identity and there is freedom, because we work for the good of heart using the truth as a liberating style of life and When I do everything from the heart to the Lord, then all the ambitions to impress others are go.
Everything I do, I do for God! and it is obvious that the world no longer impresses us because all our actions are guided and combined with the word of God.
