Well see I agree with you but then on the 'blaming the tools' point I have to disagree because the tools aren't automated. The tools available here are limited to begin with. Video is underutilized. Connectivity is non-existent. Engagement between people to build the social element is only happening in closed pockets.
So then it's how people are using the tools that is the issue. Which is why I see a broken system that is essentially just producing content to feed that automation. So no I don't think the automation is the issue but when that has become the system and not much else developing then it's obvious that the 'autopilot' is contributing to that nosedive that Hive suffers from.
Yeah there's activity here but more than one year on from the Steem/Hive split, one would expect this here to be WAY AHEAD of the thing over there in the old way. Yet the opposite is true.
Who knows where steemit is headed since I don't understand Korean but Hive boasted COMMUNITY VALUE and so the social ability here should be what would in an instant show THE WHY people join this platform. Yet it's likely for the point I just raised, that people join here because they don't understand Korean either.
I've read many of your posts and I must say that you're a rarity here. You're spot on that the system needs to be able to hold an audience that wants to simply consume content and that content creators should be encouraged to keep their production exclusive to this chain. Rather than just dumping it everywhere for monetary rewards with zero community engagement.
I have that belief too that blockchain im general should have a protocol that makes the content created on blockchain attract users rather than simply have the TEXT RECORDED on chain but platforms like Youtube be where the actual content is stored. That's like running a business and saying "I just want to take care of the books, I'll let my competitor hold the assets."
Anyway I think you have a good vision for this place so then I wonder if you're also working to implement that into development somehow? There's so much potential here as a system for the next gen social but the current system seems to believe that closed tribes/communities with a token and then ALL SOCIAL ACTIVITY ON DISCORD is somehow superior and will magically bring growth.
This chain needs to be so much more in order to attract and hold growth and champion the belief that web3.0 is a superior system.
