Well you're right the people that launched it both knew it was primarily a money printing operation and have all left since in comparison to the early days, this thing is barely minting enough for a coffee. @blocktrades is the only one still around. Ironically he's the only one resuscitating the chain too but at his own pace in order to extract the most amount of capital.

The backend can be a slow play though that's the flaw here that devs think backend needs to be absolutely polished in order to gain foothold as a system worth pushing to mainstream.

All that this needs is decent connectivity between users to keep them here and an intuitive user experience that delivers content better. The Trending page is a joke that sits going stale like a pile of dog shit in the sun.

A user shouldn't have to go digging through that wasteland for less stale dog shit. It should be a constant stream that the user can then pick out as it, at a glance speaks to their curiosity. Xanadu is a great concept that should be made at least into a frontend.

That's actually how I've thought Blockchain should look like to the user. The current frontends are so basic and static.. and then with the social activity going to discord it's then blatantly obvious why the user retention is so bad.

Anyway at this point Hive is Spanish really. To now cater to a western audience is going to be extremely difficult. The browns will continue to overrun the platform. It's funny how this thing is essentially imitating real world societies.
