What about the Mercy, made her improve your gameplay?

I main Mercy and would like your honest opinion. On Reddit or other places people normally respond with, “just keep pocketing me.” That’s not helpful as I can pocket all day and not add anything to the game.

Would you prefer her above you? To the side? When would you prefer she focus more on heals? Things like that. And anything else you can think of.
