I wanted to share a nice and interesting thought I've read a few years ago about bag seeds:
When you have a female plant (no matter if it's from a regular seed or a feminized one) and shows signs of being a hermaphrodite - so develops two genders and the same time - it's very likely that the plant pollinates itself, which produces seeds. Most people don't want that, since the potency of the plant will be affected negatively because the energy is used for producing seeds instead of producing more resin (that is produced to catch male pollen anyway).
But here comes the interesting part, which someone mentioned in a forum:
If a female plant is producing male gender characteristics (called "Bananas") within the flowering period (i.e.due to stress), their seeds will most likely be female (so kind of a way of feminizing seeds by your own).
You may think "huh, why should them?".
So, the theory is pretty simple: If a female plant (no matter if it was a feminized seed or a regular one) pollinates itself, their initial DNA can only be two X-chromosomes (XX - female).
So if there is no (male) parent that adds Y-chromosomes, there is no way that the seeds have male DNA. Where should it come from?
If often had "stress-based-bag-seeds" from female plants and they were female plants afterwards with a rate of 100% (and it were like 10 or more different seeds)!
I personally like this theory, since my own observations show that there must be something to it, I think.
