For professional reasons I have had to visit several times the Canary Island of Lanzarote, the closest island of the archipelago to the African continent.
The Canary Islands are of volcanic origin and Lanzarote is where it is most evident, if I may say so, the most volcanic of them all.
In the north of the island is the beach (caleta) of Famara, which overlooks the tiny Chinijo archipelago -as you can see in the last picture- and is always buffeted by constant winds, making it an ideal place for surfing. The beach is closed to the east by the steep and spectacular cliff of Famara, which gives its name to La Caleta (beach).
Unless stated otherwise, all the pictures and the words are mine.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
