Guernsey is a sort of autonomous territory as the Isle of Man (the UK). No idea why they included it on the list.

Comparing a city with countries is weird. But the use of the map is --- you just look at color and get an idea where it is higher cost of living. The key limitation: some countries are huge and economically diverse. For example, China is cheap according to this map, cheaper than Thailand, which is just bullshit.

I've been to Xian and Shanghai, much more expensive than Bangkok. Cost of hotels - 2 times at least higher than in Thailand. Africa? From what I heard, it's not as cheap as India and Southeast Asia - locals eat carbo and oil only, and die young. If you want to eat and live like Westerners, it would be very expensive there - including paying for security guards in many African countries.

Thus. I like a lot the presentation of these data, the map. I doubt comparing a city with countries is cool (except when you want to whine how NYC needs socialism) and I doubt the data is every time correct behind this map.
