Hah, yes! That always crossed my mind, too, but I just brushed it off to TV logic, just like why all the aliens in Stargate SG-1 happen to speak English. At least Star Trek tried to use the Universal Translator as an explanation, but it still left the question as to why all their mouths moved just as if they were speaking English. Oh, the mysteries that plague my soul.
