This was definitely a busy weekend in the wwwiebe household; aside from Easter, we celebrated not one, but two, birthdays. My youngest son had his birthday on Friday - Good Friday - and my oldest son had his birthday today, Easter Sunday. To say that the weekend was cake filled is an understatement!
Due to Covid issues there was no party to be had this year; there was, however, plenty of gifts (and cake!) and an outing to Longwood Garden.
both of the birthday boys Friday night, with the younger opening a gift - look at how desperately they both need haircuts!
Was he happy with the gift? Perhaps.
And cake! Friday night cake was an Ice Cream Cake from the University of Delaware dairy, UDairy. The bottom half was mint-chocolate-chop and the top half cookies and cream. Mmmm. Nummy.
After Friday came Saturday (a truth that exists across many cultures). Saturday we went to Longwood Garden with some friends for the youngest to run around with, and they had a lot of fun. It wasn't quite a "party," per se, but it was outdoors, fresh air, and lunch consisted of pepperoni pizza for the boy, and beer for me.
lots of room to run
One of the children we were with spent much of the day in a really awesome wolf mask. When I say it was awesome, I really mean it; it looked great, and had a chin strap so that when he spoke, the wolf's mouth moved, too.
my son, refusing to dab with the wolf and peaceing out: "I'm done here."
I was able to get a few flower pictures done, but not many, which is perfectly fine. The kids all had fun, pizza was eaten, beer drank, and it was a good way to spend the day.
I even found a fire hydrant!
Easter Sunday - known to me today as "Oldest Son's Birthday" - rolled around today. He spent the day at his grammas, helping her recover from some recent surgery. So he got to spend the day alone with his electronics, which was just as big of a birthday present to him than anything else, really. When I got there with his brothers there was an egghunt (omg, soooo much candy), some more gifts, and Yet Another Cake (tm).
he approves (and still needs a hair cut)
and cake - so much cake
All-in-all, a very successful weekend. Hope everyone had a great Easter!
